He stated that a comprehensive plan for Metro Phase-II, consisting of seven corridors, has already been prepared and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been submitted.
✳️ The Chief Minister met Union Minister Khattar in Delhi, where they discussed Hyderabad Metro Phase-II and Phase-III. He emphasized that with Hyderabad rapidly developing, there is a growing need to expand the metro network for better passenger convenience.
✳️ He explained that the State Government has taken over Metro Phase-I from L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited to ensure smooth execution of Phase-II and Phase-III expansions. With Phase-I now under government control, further expansion will become easier.
✳️ To expand the metro rail network, the State Government has already submitted a comprehensive DPR for Phase-II, proposing a total expansion of 122.9 km across seven corridors, with an estimated cost of ₹38,595 crore.
✳️ The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to grant early approval for executing Hyderabad Metro Phase-II as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Telangana. Keeping future needs in mind, he also proposed the RGI Airport–Future City corridor as Phase-III and informed that the DPR for Phase-III has also been submitted.
✳️ The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs K. Srinivas, Chief Minister’s Special Secretary B. Ajith Reddy, HMRL MD Sarfaraz Ahmed, State Government Advisor (Urban Transport) N.V.S. Reddy, Special Officer of Telangana Bhavan in Delhi Sanjay Kumar, and Coordination Secretary for Central Government Schemes Advaith Kumar Singh, along with other officials.
